Heater Core

The heater core is the component which warms up the car for the driver when is cold and is responsible for letting you see clearly out of the windshield on cold days. It is generally cooled by a mixture of water and antifreeze that travels through the engine. The coolant can then be distributed through the heater car and produce some heat into the cabin. The vehicle also has various functions like air conditioning and control over the valve.

Air conditioning

The vehicle comes with air conditioning which can be set to close the air passages after being filtered by the cabin air filter. The car has manual controls over the heater and air conditioning compressor, which can be used to dehumidify the vehicle.

The heater core being filled with cold liquid when changing to gas causes the vehicle to produce cold rather than hot air into the vehicle. And the best for regulating the compressor is the automatic temperature control.

Heater core Control features

The engine once warmed up keeps the coolant at a persistent temperature due to the thermostat. The temperature in the vehicle can be adjusted by the use if a knob or a lever. there is also various complex systems to adjust the temperature which are the electromechanical actuators and thermistor, and they require more then just a turn of the knob or lever.

Common issues with a heater core

A bad heater core can cause the vehicle to overheat the engine, coolant leak, or it may become clogged.
