About Watts Link

The watts linkage is an important component that is connected to the rear suspension of the vehicle. It is positioned at the rear axle and it allows the body of the car to travel vertically.

Watts linkage importance

The watts link is attached to the rear axle with the aid of the pivot point. As the body goes up and down, the arms of the linkage twist the pivot point, and it maintains the end centered. It is also connected to the chassis of the car by two equal horizontal rods. The vertical section is a pivot point that enables the axle to move up and down. Also, without the rear axle swinging freely the car is more stable and tough.

Common issues with a faulty watts link

A faulty watts link can cause the vehicle to not track straight on the road and it can feel very unsecured.
