- A:Yes, an oil pressure sensor typically does not show continuity when the vehicle is off. An oil pressure sensor, or more accurately an oil pressure switch (which is commonly used in conjunction with a dashboard light), is usually designed to have continuity when there is no oil pressure (engine off or low oil pressure) and to break the circuit when oil pressure is present (engine running).By OmarHonda Specialist22/7/2025
