- Q:Can you please tell me if this thermo unit is related to the transmission, for the torque converter lockout? I realize it provides a signal to the temp gauge on the instrument panel but need to know if it is also used by the transmission to detect when the engine is warm enough to activate the TC lockout (for improved fuel mileage).By Customer with vehicle: 1999 Honda CR-V
